What BEC is...
The Benton Engineering Council (BEC) was established in 1910 to serve as the executive and
legislative coordinating body for the students and organizations in the College of Engineering.
What BEC does...

Allocates money to member departments, societies and organizations for the execution of
engineering projects and events.

Aids the member societies grow their student membership

Publishes the E-Gator every semester to inform the College about society events.

Participates in the National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC).
BEC also plans several events throughout the year that are open to the entire College of
Engineering, including:

Engineers Week

Holiday Cheer

Spring Service

Society Night
Voting members of the general council are elected by their respective societies. All
engineering students are encouraged to attend meetings and participate in the many BEC
functions and events.
